@bbmonkey14 No he would not have been Ramin's understudy because at that time Ramin was playing The Phantom. Lee was in the national tour of Miss Saigon in which Ramin played Chris and he was the understudy. Ramin played Raoul in 2003.

I remember thinking that he should have had the role of Raul, not been an understudy, but then I found out that Ramin Karimloo was Raul when Lee was his understudy and I understood. But still, I love him.
