Amtrak P42 Athearn #10 w/QSI sound and LEDs HO w Doppler Effect

I just completed upgrading the headlights, rearlights, ditch lights, and reverse lights on this Athearn RTR P42 Amtrak Phase V. LEDs are great as they will probably never burn out in my lifetime, use less power and produce less heat, and look alot better than the stock Athearn bulbs which seem to burn out if you look at them too long. :)

The QSI-U decoder I have installed here is paired up with a square high bass speaker. It required some tweaking of some CVs to run at optimum and also seems to benefit from some break-in time. The QSI-U is slated to be replaced by the QSI Titan this Fall. The coolest features with the QSI-U is the startup/shutdown sequence and the doppler effect.

@woltar9 Its a QSI-U. P42/1050/442. That's Name/Type Number/Sound file. The 442 signifies the Nathan K5la horn. Hope that helps. QSI recently replaced the Universal (QS-U) with the Titan. I havent heard one yet, so I cant vouch for how they sound or perform.

when you get the your other p42 can you install a titan in it so i can hear the sound before i buy it?an d also i don't understand this cv 115.5.31 or

something like that. how do i program the cvs like that? please replay.

@iqbaln206 Probably, just be careful. You may want to pick up some tools. Dont buy a $100 decoder and then go cheap on the tools you need for installation, you know?
