  • Did you even watch the commercial? She's saying that real men don't rape and that there aren't a lot of real men in South Africa because most don't care about the rape issue or are rapists themselves. It's a completely anti-rape message. You're either trolling or in need of better comprehension skills, mate.

  • how are you so retarted as to think this is pro-rape? Are you serious??

  • Easy solution ,stay out of Africa rather than complaining.

  • @Rosannasfriend That's not the point. It's not generally true that men are indifferent towards female rape victims. That is what the ad is saying, and why those organisations don't get a sent from me anymore.

  • @19RedLineR74 maybe generally that is the truth. Every group has their exceptions, but for the most part most rape victims ANYWHERE in the world tend to be women.

  • Charlize states rape statistics. Now all rapes (in this context) are women being raped by men. So she isolates that part of the male population of SA. Then she goes on...

Charlize says:"...and perhaps worst of all that the rest of the men in South Africa seem to think that rape isn't their problem".

That's what the controversy was about. Us South African males were labelled as either being rapists ourselves, or we were worse. We didn't care about rape victims.

  • The statistics quoted in this video are the same as in the US.

  • @SaintsWillMarch 1 in 3 women in South Africa will get raped at some point in their life.

Their likelihood of being raped is greater than their likelihood of getting a college education.

    Think about that.

The statistics for men are a lot lower.

  • @KennyEverything We just studied this in an Anthropology class.

It was controversial because people accused it of being racist.

It's sad how awareness about these really important issues gets smothered because of people playing the race card over and over again.

  • Why was this ad controversal?

  • And, of course, not a word about the male victims of rape in South Africa.

  • @citrinestone Because if they did, there would be trying harder to stop the rapes.
