If you can't produce any audio better than this..... don't be offering advice The SM58 is a great mic.... but you are a lousy producer.

would this work on a boom for a web series? how would it handle sound on a boom with 2+ people talking underneath?
do you suggest a cheap alternative to use on a boom and will produce good sound without hissing and the like?

can i use SM 57 for vocals or SM 58 for instrumental?

Again, use the SM-57 is for instruments and the SM-58 is for vocals. You can switch them if you want but it will be a different sound (maybe good for the song, maybe not).
If you can get a better vocal mic, then use it for vocals instead but the SM-58 can be used if nothing else is available.

Again, use the SM-57 is for instruments and the SM-58 is for vocals. If you can get a better vocal mic, then use it for vocals instead but the SM-58 can be used if nothing else is available.

if u are recording at home and u want to use this mic do u need a pre-amp or can u just record straight onto your computer?

You usually need some kind of preamp with any microphone unless it is a USB mic.
