The fat lady was a bee by the way. In case it wasn't clear.
For the record, those graphical glitches at the start of cuts are an artefact of Live Movie Maker. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better editing program that doesn't kill audio syncing soon. I dunno, it might just be because of my laptop not being the best ever - again, something I'm in the process of rectifying.
This level is really fun, definitely my sort of idealised difficulty for Course 9. My only gripe is with the bees - I realise it's a custom enemy and making 3D custom enemies would be a tall order, but with something like this I feel like it's essential to do SOMETHING else with it. It moves very fast and in very erratic fashions, making judging where it actually is on screen extremely hard because it is flat. And small. I don't mention it in the video because I didn't see it at the time, but looking back at the recording this enemy also doesn't have a shadow. So overall it's an extremely dangerous and often unfair foe to fight. ESPECIALLY that one on top of the first thowmp! Dick move right there.
Basically all of this results in the first (two) Game Over of the project. Getting Game Over here is a little different to normal since the game doesn't by default have the Mario Head intro (there's a way around that, I've seen said intro myself). Here it takes you to the aftergame, with a few boos and not a whole lot else involved. the music from it was derived from the Paper Mario series (again, didn't mention, I was busy with other things at the time). entering the hole at the end is the only option, and takes you back to the start screen.
In the end though, since there are no midpoints in this game anyhow and it saves after every star, I'm not hugely concerned about game overs. Therefore I generally will not be life farming ever. This is amplified by the lack of farming locations. I may however farm for ~10-15 before Bowser maps, as they do actually have a makeshift mid-point if you make it to the boss room itself and tend to have elevated difficulty anyhow.
But back to the level. I really dig the music platforming theme to it, it was one of my favourite parts of Rayman and it tends to lend itself well to games in general. The cannon flute (I still say it's a clarinet but whatever) was amazing as well, I totally didn't see that coming. Once again not looking forward to collecting red coins though!
i tried installing this game, i read the readme and followed it perfect it still isnt working. is their something im missing from the readme?

@SpinyStarCraft: If you right-click the ROM and go to ROM settings, you need to change the memory size to 8MB. That's how I got it to work on PJ64 1.6 anyhow, so that's the best I can give you!
@sloth927: Fairly sure I died like that somehow before but I can't remember what stage it would've been on. Maybe it wasn't even on SM64, but I could've sworn it was...

@ROBLOXChris: For some reason it has that effect on people. I dunno, I've had that a lot from people in the past, and I guess it still rings true today too!
So long as you enjoy the videos I am happy for it though ^_^
