  • I suggest you get a frame nailer. The toy is not for that application. The compressor should have no problem to run a framing nailer and you can get them for less than $100. Good luck

  • @egartigas The CHEAPEST frame nailer is 200 bucks and they need more than 3.2 CFPM air flow.

BTW I gor another one and it works great, please see my latest video on it.

  • @MrGoosePit Okay I understand, as I had mentioned at the start of this video, I never worked with palm nailers before, but I have worked with brad nailers before.

I read that same "quote" from the book and I understand, they made it sound like it will do the job at those pressures.

I know now that you need 90lbs or more to do the job I want to do.

Remember I am just learning, air tools are new to me.

    Thanks for your input.

  • @old64goat You should re-read what the BOOK says. Here's what you obviously missed: "This tool is designed to operate on clean, dry compressed air at regulated pressures between 50 and 120 psi . The correct air pressure is the lowest pressure that will do the job." Yeah, the book says start at 55lbs and increase or decrease pressure to do the job. For your job, the high end of the pressure scale should be used, not the low end!

  • @MrGoosePit That is what it says in the BOOK that came with the nailer, BTW I got another one today and it works good, I set it to 90lbs.

I understand what you are saying about 55lbs, I was only QUOTING from my book.

The new one works great, I will be posting a video on it soon.

  • @old64goat "...the nailer calls for 55lbs.". No it does NOT. Read the manual online. I quoted the requirements right from the manual. And from personal experience no palm nailer is going to operate at 50-75lbs of pressure. NO WAY! You'll need at LEAST 90lbs to pound the nails you were using. Tell the guys at HD your were using 55-75lbs and see what his reaction is!!!

  • @old64goat Ridgids' Manual: "The correct air pressure is the lowest air pressure that will do the job...", "designed to operate... between 50 and 120 psi." (pdf can be viewed online). Problems reported by Husky compressor owners are: the guage over indicates the air pressure by as much as 20lbs! Some don't even generate over 50lbs of pressure at all despite what the guages show. My personal Husky burned up inflating a tire! Probably why the Husky's were cleared out so cheap. Sorry. :(

  • A toy with a nice case!! Rigid should be embarrassed. Just as well, it's good for your health to spend some time with a real hammer.

  • Great video, you look healthy.

I have used the same palm nailer on a job and it worked alot better than this. there has to be something wrong with this one... Leave it back and try to get another one or credit at least. Looking forward to this project.

  • @Barnekkid Is this the video called: "Bostich Palm Nailer" made in 2007?

It looks like the RIDGID same color.

    His sure works great.

I will have to see if I can get another one, mine WAS defective no doubt.
