Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka joined over twenty Members of Parliament in the launch of 'YES' campaigns in Central province with a call on Kenyans to support the proposed draft constitution.
Mr. Musyoka said there is need for Kenyans to support the proposed constitution, saying once the constitution is passed, corruption and negative ethnicity will be a thing of the past in the country. Mr. Musyoka who is also the Home Affairs Minister called on the need for Kenyans to respect the views of everybody and avoid hurling insults at each other.
He said leaders in the YES camp will work as a team in campaigning for the proposed constitution, noting that it was only through the passage of the proposed constitution that the problem of negative ethnicity could be solved once and for all.
Mr. Musyoka said the new proposed draft constitution once passed will unite the people of Kenya irrespective of tribe and political affiliation.
Speaker after speaker at the Kenol open grounds in Maragwa district, the venue of the launch of the 'YES' campaigns in Central province vowed to intensify campaigns in support of the proposed draft constitution.
Among those who addressed the rally included Deputy Prime Minister who is also finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta, Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi, Nairobi Metropolitan Minister Mr. Robinson Githae, MPs Kabando wa Kabando, Mwangi Kiunjuri, Jeremia Kioni, Elizabeth Ongoro, Eugine Wamalwa, Maina Kamau, Karege Mbiuki, Leni Kivuti, Nderithu Murithi, Ferdinand Waitutu and Ebrahim Maina among others.
