Usually gym memberships are under $50 at most gyms. A Wii Fit isn't going to help you to bench 300 pounds.

And no one is suggesting people are buying the Wii just for Fit.

Yeah I understand it's exercise that is suppose to be entertaining.... but burning 500 calories in 2 hrs with this versus burning 800 in one hour with jogging is a big difference. I'm just saying if people are serious about getting in shape or looking for a dream body, this won't deliver the same results as other cardio workouts that are free.

having a wii fit doesn't mean just using it to exercise, its exercise that is entertaining, and I burn about 500 calories in 1-2 hours on it!

You guys are being ignorant. There are a lot of game on the Wii and most people don't buy the Wii just to get Wii fit, so the premise that one buys the Wii just to workout is false and in the long run a gym membership will run you more than $100

I don't get it.... why would you need to get Wii fit for $100? For less than 25% of that price you could buy a fitness video to follow. It's not like the activities in Wii Fit are high intensity workouts... you will be lucky to burn 50 calories w/this. Don't be lazy.... follow an aerobics video and follow that or go jogging regardless if it's snowing & cold outside (I still jog during this time of the year). With that price you could buy a weight bench.
