@ThatDirtyDogAgain I guess that explains why all the titles of all relevant organisations are not held by Thai fighters in the traditional muai thai style they use, but by kickboxers following different styles such as the Japanese or Dutch style. Rather surprising considering most of the top Thai contenders have four or five times as much experience as their counterparts.
It's quite simply a different game, much like you don't walk into a taekwondo match and start boxing.

@Blahb27 If Souwer fought Yod under full Muay Thai rules, he wouldn't stand a chance. Andy was more hurt than Yod in that fight. There is a reason why international fighters won't go and fight Thailand's top fighters under their rules. Thailand's top contenders go fight all over the world and they still dominate even under kickboxing/k1 rules. You can say all you want about how you can't ruin the arms of most fighters. That's bull shit. Go to Thailand and hold some pads then tell me differently.

@ThatDirtyDogAgain Uhm, you do know that blocked hits score no points under kickboxing rules, and the Thai style of constant telegraphed midkicks is one of the simplest ways to lose a kickboxing match?
Besides, you can't ruin the arms of most fighters of that calibre. They're too used to blocked with it to be bothered. I mean, Souwer easily defeated Yodsaenklai Fairtex, mostly by simply blocking Yod's predictable midkicks and constantly answering with a lowkick that did score.

Good fighters, but they depend to much on their boxing. Not saying there's anythings wrong with that, but Sower won because he focused more on punishing the leg. However, if Andy had stronger leg kicks the fight would not go to decision. Good fighting style, but when a strong puncher meets a strong kicker. The kicker would just kick him in the arms. Old Muay Thai technique.Take out a punchers arms and he has no choice but to engage in a kicking game with you. No Kick No Life!

Arthur is strong as hell he threw Andy down to the ground at least 3 times. It looked like Andy was flying in the air ! This is a great fight! They both fought great! The decision could have went either way!

man...are those guys human?

Andy Souwer seems to walk thru everything! hes like a muay thai version of Felix Trinidad
@Philipe0849 He was more active but almost all of his hits were blocked. Souwer on the other hand was much more accurate, especially with low kicks.
