  • Asahina was 88 years old then.Really powerful!!

He was active throughout the life until he died in 2003,conducted with standing till the last.

The words of his last moments "are too early to retire"

  • Although Bruckner's work is not for everyone's taste, and I don't appreciate his music that much either, but look at Takashi Asahina, A GRAND MASTER OF HIS ART, A SILVER HAIRED GENTLEMAN ON THE PODIUM. He brought the piece in perfect end with such sense of scale & dignity. Hear Chicagoan giving him the enthusiastic applause. Bravo Asahina !!
