I'm the priest speaking about the Basilica in the video. I just watched this and thought I should correct lots of the dates. The basic story of the basilica is correct, but the dates are off. We preached a mission at St. James in Boston in May of 1869 and it was then suggested we establish a church in Boston. We bought the property that same year and the first wooden church was blessed January 29, 1871. The cornerstone of the current Basilica was laid May 28,1875 and the the building was...
