P1060818.MOV. This dance is accompanied by the Daling daling song, which has a few english words, like this daling, which is derived from Darling. Even the rythm is not completely ethnic but derived from a western song. Originally performed among the Tausug people in the eastern part of Sabah, other Bajau tribes have adopted this. The song is in the Suluk language, as it is called in Sabah. The Tausug call this the Lugu, a song telling a story. The way it is performed here is not the authentic Daling daling because it is a mixture of the Bajau version. None of the dancers are Tausug because there are not many Tausug in the western part of Sabah at Kota Kinabalu.
