  • well this video is fo non natives not fo americans.

  • @maria1saline -- Hi Maria. I made the video for anyone who is interested in learning the language as a beginner. So, you're right. It was intended for people who were not born in the U.S. and are learning English perhaps for the first time. The list is applicable to British or American English. I found the list on Wikipedia. All I'm doing here is reading the words.

  • Why is there an American guy trying to pronounce English words?

I certainly don't speak like this bloke! fail.

  • @RebeccaMarieex -- What language do Americans speak? Isn't it English? I'm just reading a list I found on Wikipedia. It's amusing that anyone would think that "English words" would be spoken with only an English accent.

  • out of those 100, I only say 66. I use 33 of them, but cannot say them (due to my accent) and I do not use 1 (The, I NEVER use the)

  • @Foxybingooo -- Really? You never use "the"? That's kind of an important word in English.

  • @WildMossnose

Dear God, I do hope you're joking.

They're not different LANGUAGES, they're different DIALECTS. It is NOT as different as Spanish and French! You can't learn Spanish and then go to France and have people understand you. You CAN learn American English and go to the UK and be understood.

This is why the world thinks Americans are stupid. /facedesk

  • I am Brazilian. Thank you very much for collaboration.

  • @learnamericanenglish People who don't use the probably use it the wrong way like they say "ta, dee, da, or day".

  • @Foxybingooo are you from Yorkshire? It's the only dialect I can think of where 'the' gets dropped (though there's still a slight pause which makes it sound like 'I'm off to. pub.")
