The second worst fire in the disastrous summer 2003, next to the infamous Kelowna-Okanagan Mountain fire was the fire north of Kamloops BC in the towns of Barriere and Louis Creek. The towns suffered damage to many homes, shops and the local sawmill. It nearly took out Sun Peaks ski resort and came dangerously close to the north end of the city of Kamloops. The highway closed for firefighting efforts just hours after I filmed this dramatic footage!
