were grappling on the floor with big strong drunken lads, all trying to pull the rifles from them, i was the only one left and didnt want to go down, it could have been helish!! 30-50 drunken revelers were about to jump in also. it was a boozer in fort whiterock. i fucking hate to think what would have happened if id done drills correctly and a round went off as he jumped my back. yes!! death, and i'd get life!! as violence would stop and they'd all crowd round the "murdered" man who was drunk.

i thought dialogue from paras was very unfair, i dont believe the mood of foot soldiers was portrayed correctly in this film.. i think like any human being they would have been shitting themselvse and acted instinctively. i nearly killed someone in belfast when we were being attacked, my safety catch was on, frg, point blank range, he knew i meant business, and scampered, this was unintentional tho, but if he got hold of me then we'd all be harmed, the other 3 in the team... cont'd
