how can that be cv joint noise? da wheel isn't even turning. sounds like transmission noise

@avciugroar lol because the problems not the cv joint as it's not even turning and is mostly tranny problem because the car's out of gear.

@TheForza1000 I am having the exact same issue right now on my pathfinder. Am in the process of replacing the cv axle (but rust is making the job a real pain).

Had same issues on my van, caused violent shaking at 40 to 50 mph whilst accelerating.
Turned out the cv boot had slipped off and dried out the joint, amazingly after repacking with grease and refixing boot tempoarily the shaking had completely gone...shaft will still be replaced though.

I wounld have thought this is because of a clutch adjustment because if its in neutral then the drive shaft should not be moving at all.

@tcmlr my Hyundai sonata had the same problem, its the cv joint wearing out, had to ge it fixed, 1700 dollars, but i have a warranty, thank god

My xj makes a noise similar but ONLY in reverse going slow bc I haven't had to backup faster than slow. Ha any hints!???

@alitap I just had my car looked at for a similar problem and it turns out I Brock my cv shaft ( I think that's what the guy said. I'm no good with cars). You should get it looked at

Sound to me like the timing chain yeapp,,,,my car sounds like that.
