"Run" - A Harry Potter Tribute to the Dead

WARNING: DEATHLY HALLOWS SPOILERS! DON'T WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!!!


Okay, so this is my second vid, I had to do this, and it took me like ages - mainly because of the OotP clips. I have the film, but my Movie Maker can't work with .mpeg-files, and I don't have a converter, so finally I filmed the film on my pc with my cam... that's why the quality isn't so great, but otherwise I couldn't have included Tonks, and I love this character.

The story:
Harry attends the memorial for the fallen, and he feels sad and guilty. But he remembers the moments he shared with them, and he hears their voices which tell him that he has to go on with his life, that they don't blame him for anything. After the memorial, Harry goes out alone, knowing that they may be gone, but have never really left him.

I tried to make the characters fit the music, so here are the lines that fitted most to each character:

Dumbledore: "you've been the only thing that's right in all I've done..." - Dumbledore has done some wrong things in his lives, and we know that he regretted it. He's also made some mistakes concerning Harry, but after all, his decisions were right.

Lupin: "And I can barely look at you..." - He knows what Harry's going through, especially after Sirius' death, because he has lost a friend, too, when James died as well as when Sirius died. Furthermore, I think that he somehow sees James whenever he looks at Harry.

Moody: "I'll be right beside you..." - He was always there for Harry, trying to protect him.

Cedric: "...and we'll run for our lives, I can hardly speak..." - well, that simply fitted the clips. And in the scene shortly before he's killed, Cedric was the one who actually spoke, Harry didn't say anything, maybe because he anticipated that something bad was going to happen.

Sirius: "To think I might not see those eyes..." - do I really need to explain that? Sirius was the most important person in Harry's life, and vice versa. The thought that someday he might not be there for Harry must have haunted Sirius, and I think he's more worried about Harry being left behind that about himself being dead.

Fred: "Louder, louder, and we'll run for our lives..." That's just Fred, isn't it? Always the one for action, he was so eager to fight - but still we learned that he can be can be lost for words, too... and I think that no matter how much he wanted to fight, he also thought about the risks, and what it would mean to leave his family behind.

Snape: "All I want's to find an easy way..." - He is probably the most difficult character, he wanted to help Harry all along, but on the other hand he hated him for reminding him so much of Lilly... he's made mistakes, but in the end he found a way to make up for them.

Lilly and James: "Have hope my dear..." - no explanation needed, I think.

Tonks: "Even if it's just for a few days..." - Unfortunately, they couldn't spend so much time together, but I think that made the moments they shared even more valuable. She was a great character, and Harry had a real friend in her.

I guess this is the longest vid description I've ever written *lol* Sorry I didn't find lines for Dobby, and that I didn't include Hedwig at all.

the only scene mising here is the scene where dumbledore dies and all of the wands light up, that would be perfect for this song, and it would match the theme well too.

I HATE HATE HATE that it's almost over. People can call us crazy, but we, well, I know I, basically grew up with these characters. I know just about everything about them, just like they're personal friends of mine. I never had a lot of friends in school (god knows why, right? ha.) and these books were a great way to escape every once in a while.

The characters who've given their lives will be missed greatly. Fictional chars or no, they all touched us in ways that only we will truly know.

poor hedwig,when i saw part one, since i read the book years ago, i was confused, annd after a few minutes i sobbed, the beautiful owl, died a brave moment, defending her true friend, harry potter........D:
