Sanyo Xacti HD VPC-CA9 waterproof first use test. I bought this on my way to see my nephew. It performs well in low light conditions too. Small, easy to use, relatively kid-safe. I researched the purchase after the fact. http://www.trustedreviews.com/camcorders/review/2009/08/22/Sanyo-Xacti-VPC-CA... the video clip to the right is easier than flipping through the 5 pages.

  • I'm cracking up over all the comments on my friends muscle and veins. She should put together training videos. That would really pick up comments.

  • I need to warn that the software that comes with this camera isn't compatible with Windows 7. There are no patches to correct the issue. The buyer's only recourse is to buy 3rd party video editing software. This was explained to me by Sanyo's support rep. John 14454. I'm very disappointed. I've owned this for less than a year. I purchased a quad core with Windows 7 to help with video editing. To be honest, the software seems very very very fragile. Most of the time when I edited small segment.

  • great quality have u try the still pics hows the quality ?

what kind of editing software did u use?

do u use a mac or regular pc for post edit and upload?

    which format did u upload?

nice first time use vid thinking to buy this bad boy, I'll be waiting for ur answer to make a decision thanks in advance

  • @1chomps This is so user friendly. The camera function is located right next to the record function, so switching back and forth is a breeze. Thankfully it is so user friendly or I could be in trouble. The still shots are good, but my dedicated Pentax Optio WP do produce slightly better quality...but that is a different kind of comparison. If I had to choose one camera to take on vacation, it would be my Sanyo Xacti CA9. BTW... the viewer is very flexible...

  • who's the buffed up lady in the background? :P

i mean, she got muscles, man... :O

  • That's Linda. She's all about fitness. My best friend since the 4th grade. She's going to love that you said this.

  • @LetterheadExperiment - Not dangerous at all, even if it gets "swamped. It's a low voltage device, so the it's about as dangerous as putting a AA battery in the pool.
