PocketRocket's 160+BHP Daihatsu Charade GTti

35mph in 2nd gear to 85mph in 4th. 18psi boost. I slowly accelerate, then floor the throttle at 4k rpm, very fast turbo spool up (Standard turbo but with FMIC). Car has been dyno'd at 160bhp and 156lbft torque (211 NM). Weight is 800kg's. Does quarter mile in 14.5 secs. Not bad for 993cc! Sorry about the vid quality, but you get the idea. Lovely sounding these 3 cylinder turbo Daihatsu engines.

I just got one of these last week and I love it.Its got a janspeed system with front mounted intercooler and a camskill downpipe. The power is amazing for such a small engine.

My mate owned one of those years ago & still says he had more fun out of this car than anything else, who needs big bhp + torque when 993cc of engine can push you to 60 in under 8 seconds.

i think thats the same turbo used in the Lancia y10 turbo !

I remember how my stock gtti used to go through the gears ,your car seems very fast

You got any extra mods planned ??
