@chrophe Actually, if I recall correctly, it was the _closing_ theme... and only in the "later" years.. The radio show 'Smoke Rings' started in the early 60's. I remember this song from my youth in the mid 80's.

Wonderful song It used to be the opening theme for a famous radio show in Sweden playing jazz music from such greats as Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count basie and Glenn Miller hosted by a man by the name of Leif Anderson, and broadcasted on swedish national radio but now like so much of the good stuff-lost in time. The man had a very withered and hoarse voice that was accentuated by a very very low tone.He always started every shiw saying the line "hello there music lovers... good evening"

Great theme! It should have been nominated for an Oscar and received more praise. Class, style, melancholy,...

this song is very moving.
This theme has given me chills since I saw the movie on its first release, in Manhattan. Thanks for posting; I've listened to your other movie cue uploads, and you have superb taste!
