dude your shepard looks like ryan giggs, original is da best ! also there is a prothean beacon at mass effect 2, you can use it like the beacons at ME1 u saw the old vision with some new additions, like collectors which were protheans, but still it doesnt make any sense, I hope we will understand it at ME3

They were probably studying us because y'know........we were alien to them. The Protheans wouldn't have known about the Reapers in the time they were watching us so I doubt it has anything to do with them interfering with our race to make us able to fight the Reapers.
Not unless there's a twist in ME3 where we're told that did happen.

Prothean's studying us because we're the only hope for the galaxy. Developed faster than any of the other races in the galaxy.... You see the council has been around for a millennium or so... within100 years humanity has achieved far more than any of the other races out there.
