  • @mikefranky Only Rohrl and Blomqvist can do it.

  • masterpiece...

  • @FiveZylinderRacing

I`m talking about original fabrication, these engines were built by Lehmann Engineering in Germany and this Audi Sport E2 still has fabricated parts from an ex Schmidt Motor Sport mechanic, no UK parts

  • Paul, that's not true that these engines need complete fabrication these days. There are tons of legit aftermarket companies that make good forged 20v turbo Audi five cylinder parts. Trust me on this.

  • Yes very simple 4x4 technology but close to the best available in 1985, basic 50/50 torque split, and yes in typical Audi fashion the engine sits so far forward creating massive understeer, this car by the was was down at 420BHP not the full 550BHP not just for this event but basically to try and preserve engine parts as most now need completely fabricating

  • Five cylinders sound is amazing! I think that noise is better than a V8!

  • @Cruxalicious ....Cheers for reply and info.

I just love watching these 80's group B cars....Bloody hell i wish they would bring them back!!

  • @mikefranky Very basic and primitive. All the one on the Quattro does is drive the four wheels at a constant.

  • @Cruxalicious ...What does rudimentary mean?

  • @mikefranky This was very, very rudimentary AWD, the group B Audi was one of the hardest cars to drive.
