"Fairytale" - Sara Bareilles (lyrics)

Since there has been discussion about this video's meaning and the feelings this song portrays of fairytales, I thought I might give my own interpretation. If you happen to not agree, I'm happy to explain my views via personal messages, NOT via comments, thank you.

In my personal experiences and beliefs, I wholeheartedly agree with this song, which is why I loved making this lyrics video for it. I may sound like a weirdo here, but I don't think that anyone should just wait around for that perfect person to come "save" them. If that has happened to you and you believe it's worked out, I say good for you! I just don't believe it's something I should bank on happening to myself, or really anyone. Now, I'm not ragging on fairytales or anything; I personally LOVE fairytales, but I don't love the ideas they always portray. In my own opinion, I believe that we can go out and find that person whom we love. I'd like to believe that just sitting on my butt and waiting for my "fairytale ending" will just leave me alone and disappointed. Now anyone who does believe in that and believes it's happened to them personally, that's alright, too! I'm happy for you, really. I just think that sometimes being the "prince" is better than being the "damsel in distress".

I think this song is genius!!! ... In my opinion .. The song is about fairytales put pressure on everyday relationships.. We have such high expectations that arent realistic ... Like fairytales .. Sure they are wonderful to think about ... But we obviously know that not everyone wants a fairytale nor can live up to one .. .I cant help but love this song !!! ... And does it really matter what you think it means .. .Just blast it and enjoy People!!!! <3
