I filmed this while driving from Leshan to Chengdu in Sichuan Province, PRC on the Chengle Expressway.

Sichuan is beautiful, but if you're thinking of traveling there to see any of their amazing sights, such as the Leshan Buddha or any of the Panda Reserves, be aware that the air quality in Sichuan is... well... you've seen pictures in National Geographic of smog. It's quite unbelievable until you experience it. That said, it's completely worth it, but you may have to hire a guide as my limited experience with the local population suggests that finding someone who is willing to speak Mandarin outside the big cities is difficult at best.

  • @asianwhitenigger It's HORRIBLE. You've seen photos of smog in National Geographic maybe... well this is Nat Geo levels with even more smog than you'd ever imagine. In the airport, inside the airport, I could not see 100 ft in front of me due to yellow coal smog. I got hella sick. The whole place, including my luxury hotel, smelled like burnt coal. My advice... don't breathe. Also there was raw sewage everywhere in the area I stayed in. That being said, everything else was nice

  • How does the air quality feel when you're there? Can you describe in more detail?

I'd appreciate it because Im heading to Chengdu pretty soon.
