Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the Republican Conference Chairman, speaks at the Senate Republican Press Conference this afternoon.

He spoke about the bailout rescue plan and auto dealers who have turned away one-third of those applying for car loans when the normal rate is less than 20%. Doesn't that indicate they shouldn't have the loans in the first place? With the few changes they have made, it's basically the same bill the house failed to pass with lots of pork and beans added to the bill.

We need to work on a solution to this problem, but adding pork to influence votes only hurts us, the taxpayers. The Senate votes tonight on the measure, contact your Senators and urge them to vote against this bill.

  • Any senator who votes for the Bailout needs to be voted out of office or recalled.

Banks will loan money regardless, because banks loan to make money and they don't want to stop making money.

I still get millions of offers for credit cards, how can that be they are not loaning money? LOL

  • I am from TN. I was excited to move back this summer from Alabama (Where our representatives are true conservatives... sessions, shelby... voted against bailout). Then I read about this joke of a representative... maybe I will stay in Alabama.

  • Tell me how adding porkbarrel spending helps ?

How does funds for Arrow manufacturer, Bacardi RUM, Nasscar, EXXON spill and R&D credits helps cure the ecconomic problems ?

NO! THIS IS POURING GASOLINE INTO THE FIRE!

VOTE NO! America is watching very closely at WHO in the house will dare to vote AYE on this BAILOUT+pork

  • David Frazier, editor of The ETF Strategist, says the idea that business and individuals can't get loans is demonstrably false. Main Street is in far better shape than Wall Street would have you think.
