I had a Merc start overtaking me on a narrow lane and then move left as there was an ongoing vehicle. He was so close that I gave him several lusty thumps to his front wing. No camera, sadly, as it was a day ride on my recumbent. Must work out how to run my camera from my dynamo!

Not in New Zealand, I had a call from the Police today saying to expect 60+ DVD's returned because none of the drivers actually hit me!! all less than 0.5m our Road Code say "ideally" give 1.5m, still you don't claim 2nd most dangerous roads in the OECD without trying ya know, Adrenaline Capitol of the World!! Woooo go NZ ;-) Come for a tour sometime!! I dare ya :-)

Also had one of these today, in an Audi surprise surprise. My OI OI and pushing out to the right resulted in the driver braking, and then sitting behind another cyclist for ages.

Have people had success with regards reporting close passes like that to the police and the police actually taking the video evidence seriously enough to prosecute?
Just curious to know.

@1qaz0pllm In the past I've struggled to get much of a response. Only once did I use the video (it was tailgating, so next to useless). I did file a report but never heard anything back. I only filed this video, online at the weekend, so don't really expect to hear anything until later this week. Will update....
You should have a look on Magnatom's profile. His latest "20 cm from death" video. I think the police are taking it seriously, though he can't really say much atm.

I had one much like that the other day, The other lane was perfectly clear yet the overtake was within inches of my handlebars!!

@gaz545 That irks me more than the usual close overtake; IMO it shows how inconsiderate/ unobservant/ choose a stronger word they are.

@HLaB75 yep. It was completely unnecessary. If they could safely fit into 1 meter of the other lane, they could fit the whole car in there.
I sent a copy via the Norwich police's report a crime section of their website.
