  • thanks for uploading this. I think somebody else uploaded this performance which this finale part I watched about one million times. Just wished it had better quality and the sound did not delay for a whole beat!!!

  • @ppgppgppgppg yes you are right; I've downloaded this previous upload, and because it's deleted now, I posted again. sorry for the poor quality, but I have no better version...

  • I hate sitting choirs. Basses aren't half bad although!

  • @mortalfrog0815 Could not agree with you more, and also Abbado's live recording of the 9th with Berlin Phil after he had cancer is incredibly emotional.

  • love love love love!

  • Love this video. It's my favorite recording of the Mahler 2 finale that I've found on YouTube so far. However... any chance you could fix the audio/visual sync starting at around 3:00? It gets a little out sync and drives me bananas. Thanks!

  • This is beautiful..

  • @FaulknerRushdie abbado's lucerne performance was the one i was referring to... i purchased all his lucerne mahler performances, smartest thing i ever did!

  • @mortalfrog0815

Bernstein's is certainly an individual interpretation. I like it, but I don't pretend like it's a faithful reading. Do you like Abbado's performance from the Lucerne festival? I think it's quite good too.

  • if you ask me, i don't like the bernstein interpretations a bit... in my opinion, abbado is the one mahler master, i can relate to the most! rattle is great too, but abbado's interpretations are just blowing my mind. bernstein's don't!
