@zeroMPUA Late model 109's carried 3 nose guns. One 20mm MG151/20 or 30mm Mk 101 or 103 cannon mounted behind the engine. The barrel ran down the propeller shaft and the muzzle was in the center of the propeller hub. The two bulges in front of the cockpit house the breeches of a pair of 13mm MG 131 heavy machine guns. They were linked to a timing gear allowing them to fire through the propeller disk without shooting the propeller off. The muzzle ports were behind the propeller.

@hermodpeter Can you provide any evidence to support this? I've never heard that before and WW2 was an absolute windfall for German designers in the early years of the war.
