U2 performing Breathe off No Line on the Horizon on Jo Whiley's Live Lounge on February 27, 2009. According to Bono, this is the first time they're performing this song live. This is only a short snippet as I wanted to concentrate on enjoying myself!

The complete Live Lounge will be available on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/jowhiley/) for the next seven days.

  • well done to you for getting this on today as i was one of the unfortunate ones who missed out on this special occasion, did they spend much time with the fans or did they just play and leave? anyway great stuff cant wait for the tour heard this ones gonna be quite special, cheers.

  • You're welcome. :)

There was some audience interaction (particularly with a heavily pregnant lady at the front) and Jo Whiley did interview them for part of the performance. They played four songs (Get On Your Boots, Magnificent, Beautiful Day and Breathe) and while the sound was a little dire (and Bono sounded offkey), it was, nevertheless, an awesome experience.

Bono did mention that they'd be going on tour "early summer". I can't wait!

  • How can he see anything with the glasses? Oh but of course.....they can never come off....:)

  • He did take them off during the Live Lounge performance... right towards the end of Beautiful Day. Check out the footage on BBC Live Lounge for the proof. :)

  • jelouse wanker you are..................

  • Fantastically well spotted

    U2 are BOYs again

  • Bono doesn't sound off key even when he's off key, he's that good. Also it's not fair to describe his overall performance as off-key. The guy tried really hard and the songs are very hard to sing. You should've caught that note he did at the end of the song it was beautiful.

  • He can't see without the glasses actually. He has a medical condition that makes his eye swell up under strong studio lights. So they're for protection.

  • what a lucky lucky person you are!

  • fuckin amazin and the song
