The event, held at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, DC on November 13, 2007, examined personal privacy in an age of terror and technology. Arguing for the debate resolution were Douglas W. Kmiec, professor of constitutional law at Pepperdine Law School, and K.A. Taipale, executive director of the Center for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology Policy. Arguing against were Marc Rotenberg, executive director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, and John, Lord Alderdice, terrorism expert and former Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
