Juan Tizol's composition made famous by the Duke Ellington Orchestra. I love the latin to swing changes when playing this tune. Hope you can enjoy it.

  • Thanks but I wouldn't go that far as to say the new Duke!

  • Thanks for the accolades.

  • wow nice songs. i havent touch a trumpet in 4 years. i thnk i might get one soon and start playing again. do you think you have any good songs to recommend personally? beginners and some more advance ones? ps, do u have a favorite method of communicating?

  • Thanks glad that you enjoyed it.

I believe that some good beginner tunes include: of course any blues such as Now's the Time (I have a recording there) Blue Bossa is a nice latin tune, Watermelon Man and Cantaloupe are old jazz rock tunes that work well for beginners also, and of course a ballad is something that one wants to have in their repetoire such as My Funny Valentine.

I think the key is to listen as much as you can to the masters.

  • NO WAY! i almost bought that trumpet its a bach right?

  • Well it is a limited edition Bach (2,000 made)mine is 800 which has a 6 bell and 6 lead pipe which is modeled after the 1930's Bach. I have had it 3 years or more and really enjoy it. I put a rounded lead pipe into it so that it would blow a bit freer. It does have some resistance but I like to move that air through the horn. I use a Monette B6 mp and have been using that for 2 years.

    Thanks for listening.

  • Great !

  • Famous !

  • Yeah, you'r the new Duke !

  • Bravooo

  • Wahrlich brilliant, wie Du dieses Stück auf der Trompete interpretierst. Duke hätte Dich gefragt, ob Du es hättest spielen können und wahrscheinlich auf die Piano-Version verzichtet.

    Well done - great respect.
