  • So I understand this correctly... You can drain ALL the trans fluid into the bucket... "not starting the car" it will pump all the transfluid out then you can refill it with brand new?

I ask because I am about to do a flush and that seems like the easiest way of what you did via disconnecting the one line...

    Thanks,

    -N

  • @NewShockerGuy All of the fluid that will come out, yes. Some fluid will be stuck in the torque converter though....

  • I want to thank you. I cut out the leaking part of the aluminum line. I took a 6 inch rubber trans cooler hose, fitted over both cut ends, and sealed, and double clamped the hose and it worked. Thanks alot.

  • Your very welcome. Just trying to give back what I get from youtube. :)

  • the rumbling and grinding you guys are referring to is the universal joint on the drive shaft. i had the same problem.just drop the drive shaft and replace the universal joint or both

  • where do i find that switch on a 2001 explorer????

  • Sorry I accidentally removed your post instead of hitting reply. I would recommend replacing the entire line with rubber hose.

  • Yes you can. Thats what I do.

Put a little RTV on the end of the metal peice and put the clamp on really snug. Wait and hour and fire it up and check for leaks.

  • Quick question. I have a leak also in the aluminum line where it runs under the radiator. Could I cut out the piece thats leaking, and push a rubber house far up the good pipe in both directions, and clamp it, instead of changing the whole line thanks.

  • Unlikely. Ill PM you.
