This a tribute to the famous catastrophic confederate assault that played out on July 3 1863 the battle of Gettysburg. Many consider Pickett's Charge the "High Water Mark" for the Confederacy. Although this video mainly features the rebs, it is also dedicated to the yankees who fought just as bravely to repel the butternuts. Most of the paintings in this video are of Pickett's Charge, but some are of images that represent scenes that may have occurred during it. All the privates in this video were not involved in the charge, but resemble the types of men...and boys, who fought and fell in it. Some of the generals in the photos were involved in the charge, but not all of them (i.e. John B. Gordon) The quote used at the beginning of this video was used from a book called "Pickett's Charge: A Micro-history of the Final Attack at Gettysburg" by George R. Stewart. I own none of the pictures or photographs in this video. All rights go to the original publishers, authors, and artists. SONG: "THE SOUTHERN SOLDIER BOY" BY KATHY MATTAE (I do not own the song either)

THIS MOVIE IS DEDICATED TO ALL INVOLVED IN PICKETT'S CHARGE!

Special Dedication too the Tennesseans, North Carolinians, Alabamians, Mississippians, etc. of Pettigrew's and Trimble's brigades who haven't been given the credit they deserved in this charge.

  • GREAT SONG AND A WONDERFUL TRIBUTE TO THE SOUTHERN SOLDIER BOY!!

HE MAY NOT HAVE OWNED ANY SLAVES BUT THEIR SACRIFICE CANNOT BE IGNORED

BTW I AM NOT WHITE BUT I STILL FEEL FOR THEM......

  • @AUG351 Yep, and one could replace "Bob Roebuck" with "Pat Cleburne" and "Nannie dear" with "Susan dear" (Susan Tarleton, his fiance) :)

  • This song makes me think of Patrick Cleburne, a true hero as with andy men that fought in the the war. Patrick Cleburne was an Irish Immigrant and was one of the greatest Confederate generals and died a hero with all his men attacking Union fortifications at the Battle of Franklin which is a shame that him and Franklin are little known, God bless all that fought and died in the war.

  • @jtsmcak Thank you.

  • TheTtennessee Bgd. was actually directly in front of The Angle. Picketts troops guided left on THEM. Tennesseeans went across that wall as well but are usually overlooked or ignored in that attack. All flags of the Tennessee troops were captured except for the 7th Tn. which survived. The flag of the 14th Tenn. was captured PAST The Angle and to the left of it when the color bearer was shot down. A sgt. of the 14th Conn. ran out and grabbed it. All soldiers in that fight should be honored.

  • Дикси были настоящие, храбрые воины, и ОЧЕНЬ жаль что они не смогли победить победить янки с их теперь уже всему миру навязываемой "демократией золотого тельца - доллара". Dixie were real, brave warriors, and very sorry that they could not win with the Yankees win their now world imposed "democracy golden calf - the dollar."

  • @Butternut731863 You're welcome!!! :)
