I have never felt any shred of sympathy for the assholes that teased Carrie. They deserved a long and torturous death.

Where the tragedy comes into play is that the majority of them were NOT all laughing at her.

The saying: "a few bad apples can spoil the whole bunch" definitely applies here.

I know I am going to regret saying this but I am looking forward to the remake coming this October. I totally do not approve of the actress playing Carrie but.....Julianne Moore is the mother and they hopefully can do better than this.

I remember watching this movie the first time: I felt so much sympathy for Carrie and I always thought that these assholes may not have deserved death but on the other hand, if this was a movie critisizing the current sociological clichees Carrie would be a disturbed girl running into school with a gun killing everybody. In the end: I realize bullies don't deserve physical punishment, let alone death but if something happens to them along the way of them tormenting others, it is always provoked.
