Got some insomnia tonight so I decided to post something. Don't have the energy for editing so I decided to post this teaser for DanceGypsy.

Here I am practicing Flamenco with Torcuato Zamora for the first time in 7 years. Not quite like riding a bike, but hopefully close.

Although it has been a while, I am determined to get back into it- thanks to Dancegypsy's infectious Flamenco inspiration.

This is just a small part of a dance called Tanguillo from Andalucia.

  • not bad...but... I have not seen feelings, pasion either. Flamenco, for us, is a form of life, not a few steps of academy.

    keep dancing...and feel it

  • you are absolutely right, that is why I actually wanted to take this down. It was practice, me trying to remember a dance I have not done in 7 years. I wasn't thinking of feeling at all, I was trying to remember what my feet were supposed to do and that's it.

  • So wait, you got insomnia, and at two in the morning decided to hop on over to the local dance studio, where there happened to be a flamenco guitarist? Interesting world you live in.

  • Nah, ask Aisha- this was filmed weeks before I posted it. We were filming something completely different that day at my house (more Flamenco poems about Federico Garcia Lorca), and I decided to see if I could remember this dance. Aisha suggested I film the practice so that she could learn the dance from the tape.

  • wow, Sandy. You are really talented! I'm reading the comments and I guess they're right, if that's where you guys are. I'm a musician. And I LOVE flamenco. I'm impressed by this clip simply because I had no idea you were so talented in this area. There is always room for improvement with all things!! Great clip!!

  • Hermana bonita, thank you so much for NOT keeping this off. You did take it down then put it back at my request, because it meant so much to me. And so, you get comments about its raw mechanical aspects. It's your beautiful heart toward a friend that causes it to still be here and I love you for that. NOW PRACTICE!!! :-) <3

  • Had to watch this again! KISSES! xoxoAUDRA

  • NICE!

i painted live flamenco dancers in seattle on time. i used 3 different canvas's and acyrlic paint (so it would dry fast enough). i just kept changing the canvas's so one would be dry enough to work on... slightly abstract but i was able to capture the dancers... ok so your HOT!

  • Wow ! Youve not lost your touch !

  • LOL... just reread these comments. She said she got insomnia and decided to post, not that she got insomnia and decided to dance. That's so funny. I WOULD like to live in that world you envision, though, one ready and waiting to respond to my every inclination... sigh. ;-)

  • Ooouuuuu Mami Please......!

  • I am so glad you did. Every time I click on this to play it, the minute your feet start rapping on the floor, my heart ignites. I hope you're having a fantastic time right now and I'm really looking forward to the real thing. "Nothing like the real thing, Baby..." R&B or Bono, it's ALL good!
