Trent Walker gives a lecture and performance of Cambodian Buddhist Dharma Songs (colloquially known as "thor bot" ធម៌បទ or "smot" ស្មូត្រ) at the Khmer Arts Academy in Long Beach as part of the Khmer Arts Salon series, curated by Prumsodun Ok (http://www.khmerarts.org ). Trent has studied Dharma songs with Cambodian Living Arts (http://www.cambodianlivingarts.org ) masters Prum Ut and Koet Ran since 2005. This lecture/performance, titled "Smot: Songs of Healing" was given April 18th, 2009.

  • AT 3:22 when Trent starts to calmly speak in perfect Khmer with proper enunciation, I was blown away. Way and above expectation at every level. Just an amazing human being.
