Yeah, CVB still deliver, great compilation. New Roman Times is a definative CVB Album in my book, tittle track says it all!

Great album, took me a while to really get into it. Still don't know how they got away with it in 2004 with all the crap that the Dixie Chicks went through. Maybe just obscure enough not be picked up by the pro-war knobs. Reminds me of Pink Floyd's "The Wall" only updated to Iraq.

I also remember hiding all our stuff, before the journey, in a tire tube of the spare, bias ply, tire. We miscalculated, had too much baggage when we hit the border, and ended up eating dry salad like crazy, pulling off the road to down it with gulps of bottled water. And all that time I thought i was so poor. I was fuckin' rich! (not literally...)

I remember something now, summer 92 or 93 (hazy stuff, u know) and our little tribes would pile into VW vans and head across the border from Vancouver, BC driving south just to camp, smoke and see music. The gorge in Oregon was the most memorable. I only recall a friend saying, as we are driving, CvB is gonna be there. He was singing a line like "dirty deep fried chicken and dirty, dirty rice" and i still haven't found what song that is. 16-18 yrs ago. Hmm.
