The 1000th US soldier was killed in the Afghanistan war on Feb. 21, 2010. There was an anti-war protest in Boston, Massachusetts on Feb. 22 to protest the war.

  • Good. Those rats are trying to pull a white man's burden but its the 21st century and its not going to work this time. It's a double whammy, every one of those dead rats means 120k the govt has to pay in death benefits, plus the cost of replacing the equipment, so that really hits the govt where it hurts, its pocketbook! And after writing those checks its got to find a new rat replacement which will require feeding and training.

  • If there was no oil in Iraq & Afghanistan, we wouldn't be there. You can drive around in cheap gas is because our sacrifices in securing THAT area.... as demanded of us by our Saudi masters.

  • I voted for change and hope. Sadly, I see no end to the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. If there is no draft or a war tax, these wars will continue. And, of course, this money could be spent to make our own country a better place to live.
