Fortunately, Larry's pep talk helped in a big way. In a season 4 episode of "Perfect Strangers" entitled "Blind Alley"---around the time this PSA aired---Larry's bowling team defeats Mr. Gorpley's team in a tournament. When one of Larry's teammates went to a conference in Kansas, Balki filled in and led the team to victory.
