Connolly had to have reconstive surgery after that hit. It shows his character that he came back out and still played when his nose was f'ed up

No, it wasn't dirty. Instead of trying to counter-hit Thompson, Connolly slowed up like a bitch and got the full force of the hit. This injury is Connolly's own fault.

Who is this moron who thinks Connolly can't "stand up for himself"? He needs reconstructive surgery, you idiot. The fact that he came back into the game at all is a testament to his toughness.

From a lifelong Sabres fan:
First of all... it's Connolly... he's not a fighter. "Standing up for himself" is a ridiculous phrase to use here. His face got crushed into the boards, once with the arm, and then again when he came through with the hip.
Secondly, I don't call this a bad hit, it was just Connolly not being strong enough and putting himself in a bad position. Stupid move... I blame Timmy for this entirely.
