This is the preview edition of a camera comparison test conducted by the senior thesis class at San Francisco State University's Cinema department. It's not a highly scientific or perfect test (ie, in this version the film footage has been color graded, but not the digital), but it gives a good sense of what each format looks like. There are two other videos in this series.

  • Interesting. If this test is any indication of real-life performance, the Rebel T3i is off my list, and it's a really close tie between V3 and Eterna, but in the end I gotta give it up for the Fuji. The colors just seemed a lot bolder than V3, and the sharpness was a little better in places. On the video side, I'd have to go with the APX; a lot of the T3i footage looked blown out or too dark. The camera seems to have exposure issues.

  • Why not be consistent with the exposures?
