Metroliner flight highlights

Here we are doing a short flight on the bank run in the Metro 3, from Lismore to Coffs Harbour. During the right engine start I have to go series on the batteries as the engine on that aeroplane is hard to start. The video then changes to the second (left) engine start, then changes to takeoff where we use the water/methanol injection to boost the engine power. Note the increase in noise and jump in torque (the third set of engine gauges down from the top) when the water/meth pumps start, and how the engines decrease in power when the pumps go off. (the green light on the annunciator panel goes off)
The video then changes to the approach and landing into Coffs, and I have to manoeuver to lookout for another aeroplane doing circuits there. After landing the video then changes to the left engine shutting down so the First Officer can get out and organise the loaders.

the gauge on the dash in the green range. what does this indicate? is it oxygen or dioxide indicator

That's the angle of attack indicator.

@solomonpilot767 Got that right! It's one of the last real man's airplanes. I've never had more fun or been more terrified flying any other plane! Oh, the good ol' days...

i love flying in these things...even tho the garrets are run to the limit almost 100% of the time..One second you're fine and the next you're fragging 331 pieces everywhere! still a nice riding aircraft with really good power! although goofy looking
