Show Up for This Important Action
GBLT human rights activists in San Francisco will participate in the August 4 Global LGBT Solidarity Day by staging a one-hour speak out and protest at seven foreign consulates. Please come to support all people concerned about international LGBT rights and our brothers and sisters across our planet. Bring your voices, music, signs, and your pretty faces.
WHAT: Global LGBT Solidarity Day Action WHEN: Saturday, August 4
TIME: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
WHERE: Flood Building, 870 Market Street
(Near Powell Street BART and Muni stations)
Speak Out and Engage Others
for LGBT Equality Everywhere!
The location was chosen because Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru all have consulates in the Flood Building.
Similar global LGBT solidarity actions will happen on August 3 in New York City and on August 4 in Caracas, Cologne, Mexico City, San Diego, Stockholm, Warsaw, Washington D.C., and Vancouver B.C.
Costa Rica
Attitudes towards Lesbians, Transgendered, Gays, and Bisexuals are slowly changing toward tolerance and acceptance with the increase of the gay tourist dollar making up a notable chunk of their economy.
El Salvador and Guatemala
Continued patterns of vicious killings of Transgendered.
Nicaragua and Panama
Homosexuality is still illegal. Can be imprisoned up to 3 years.
Peru and Chile
Facing opposition and persecution from the church and military, like many other South American countries.
Honduras
In 2005 Gay marriage and adoption became illegal.
San Francisco, CA, US
Brutal killing of Ruby Rodriguez, a transgendered woman, last March. LBGT marriage still not recognized. People living with AIDS/HIV being forced out of their homes with little or no social support (AIDS/HIV funding took a significant cut recently).
Let's recognize discrimination and violence against GBLT and ask how we can help put an end to it. Hate and violence against GBLT is happening worldwide -- including San Francisco!
Some people still hate gays more than they love anything or anyone else. To deny anyone the right to share a lifetime in a loving and caring relationship with all the rights and responsibilities granted under the law, is not a genuinely decent human being.
Stop blaming God for YOUR hatred. God is no bigot, YOU are. Just like God never was to blame for American Apartheid (all the way into the 1960s!).
Live and let live. If your faith opposes such common love and kindness, question your faith!

To paraphrase Ann Coulter: "We should invade their city, kill their leader and convert them all to Christianity."

So I am confused about what you saying. Are you saying it would be good if all countries should persecute people who are openly homosexual? Are you saying you support tolerance of openly homosexual people? The only thing I am sure of from your post is that you sound pissed off, but I am not sure what you are pissed off about. Please educate me.

There isn't anything 'official' about the 'portal'. It's just resource links within wikipedia. Let it go.
