People, on one hand, point their fingers at the stupidity of such montage (I do), on the other, they would seriously rather sit here and watch it. It took me ten minutes to load the video, and I already know what I expect from it. YET I am waiting for it. My action of staring at the monitor is a result of the distraction caused by the video. The distraction is caused by the nature of the video - being deviated from the NORMAL Britney music videos. Distraction leads to anticipation.
Many of the videos on entertainment have to do with Brittney Spears. Is it true that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery or is it just how we entertain each other at someone else's expense?
I find this aspect of recycling on YouTube fascinating. It makes me wonder if aspiring filmmakers across the world would ever be willing to make a cross-continental collaboration. If this was pleasuible, then one might think more about YouTube as a consolodating medium, and the possiblities that come with high speed internet access and simple, free editing programs like iMovie.
Those are only a sample of the parodies that have been made of Britney's performance. It's also an example of how we only own what we put on youtube for a short while, after it's posted it becomes public property and people can do/say with it as they please!
