@DB2SK You know i'm a fan of both KPop and of course western pop, but I think you are right in that the Korean companies need to start either find more confident and mature sounding singers and move slowly away from the sort of bubble gum cutesy stuff. Don't get me wrong i like cute girls but if one's purpose is to branch out into bigger market you need someone like Ailee to fill that void.

@floxsakura I agree with that. Most k-pop groups are considered idols rather than artists because they are trained to entertain and focus on fame rather than what they (should) represent. That's why I prefer a group like 2NE1 who spends less time on talk shows & focuses more on improving themselves as leaders who inspire & encourage. Talents like Ailee, 2NE1, & other passionate individuals in the music/entertainment industry will eventually shine more than trained idol dolls.

@DB2SK Musically Kpop doesn't measure up. But it's popular all throughout asia, some of Europe and in Brazil. That's quite alot. Because of the culture, the 'typical' kpop will remain what it is. I think Hyori is beautiful and confident minus a little passion compared to Ailee. If they want to bring in some western style to Korea, I think it's a gamble. It could be a huge success or somewhat popular.
