One of the most sweetest pieces of the music of Frederick Delius. The pictures are of Delius and his wife Jelka at their home in Grez. Performed by the RPO, Sir Thomas Beecham conducting (circa 1958).

This si sopoignant and evocative of a bygone era. The music is hauntingly sad and yet a clear celebration of life.
Love it!

Today I visited Limpsfield Church in Surrey. Delius and Jelka are buried there as indeed is Beecham and Norman Del Mar.
The church has a window commemorating them.

Hauntingly beautiful, as is the movie about Delius, Songs of Summer.
