Kenya, african barkcloth and crafts.

Barkcloth is an old African art form practiced in many African countries, and it is used for a variety of purposes including baskets, clothing, mats, coverings, and other purposes.

The methods used of continuous beating and stretching are the indigenous ways it has always been prepared.

African barkcloth forms are then sometimes decorated with intricate designs and patterns for appeal or left without design.

  • Your welcome. Yea, it's better if we tell the story.

It can be tedious making this, but a good way to bond with family while doing so. We have varied techniques of making Bark cloth and dyes and designs.

  • It would have been nice to have the Africans tell the story. But great story. Thanks for sharing.
