That's interesting, where are you building the farm and schools? Even if the schools can't get internet connections yet, it would still be beneficial for the students and teachers to learn basic computer skills and typing, and they can also watch films and use educational software. You'll definitely be able to send things back to your office, if not directly from your town then from somewhere close. I'm interested in hearing more about what you're doing. Can we email instead?
Thanks for the response. Yeah, thats what I was affraid of. We are trying to build a rice farm there (to complete with bio-fuels) and our biggest concern is having a decent internet connection. I am not posting a video, but we do alot of agricultural research that needs to be fed back to other offices in Europe. We also planned a school with 4 computers, so we need to know if they are worth the investment. So I will look into the fibre-cable that you mentioned. Probably the best hope. Thanks
Hey, I didn't upload them to the internet over there. I think that would take forever, honestly. Internet outside of cities is very slow, and most of the even slow in the cities. For email and stuff, it's fine, but you have to be patient. I hear they're running fiberoptic cable throughout the Indian Ocean, so that should fix the problem, but I don't know when it will be done. Are you planning on posting video? It might have gotten better since I was there last year...
Hello, I am trying to get information about internet access and reliability in Madagascar. How easy did you find interenet outside the major city centres? Were you able to load your videos from the country or did you have to wait?
