This was the final performance of the TEN day Cabaret Conference at YALE. http://www.thecabaretconferenceatyale.com. Its been renamed The International Cabaret Conference at Yale since I went in 2007 and some of the guest teachers include:
Erv Raible, Artistic Director; Tovah Feldshuh, Rita Gardner, Julie Wilson, Carol Hall, Jason Graae, George Hall, Laurel Massé, Sally Mayes, Pamela Myers, Steven Lutvak, Amanda McBroom and Sharon McNight. Music directors include Shelly Markham, Ron Abel, Tex Arnold, Michael Orland, Alex Rybeck and Paul Trueblood.
The year I went I got to have one on one's with Sharon McNight and Jason Graae and got to work on the ideas that I brought for creating my own 'Cabaret Show'. All the advice I received pointed me toward one solution. BECOME Famous !!! And Then do a Cabaret.
I am going to post other versions of this song that I did as warm ups and also in my guest star at the 1020 Room at the Bel age Hotel in West Hollywood, so you can see the differences that may or may not have worked... I'm going to leave that up to your eyes...
For me, I felt that my performance was not organic and so I did not want to share this with anyone and put it in safe hiding after seeing it the first time. Again, thats where YOU come in because I am always my own Worst Critic because recently I decided to upload ALL of my materials for posterity, regardless of how good or bad I think I am in various clips.
I look forward to your emails and ccmments !!! Coming from a HAM that has always dreamed of 'Being on Broadway' ... excuse me ...
'Starring on Broadway'.
peace,

I thought you did a very good job of telling the story of the lyrics in this song. Don't be so hard on yourself--it was good!
