http://www.tweaktown.com The rep was kind enough to give us a really good run down on the differences between 3G and 4G, the types of mobile devices and routers folks will use with its service and the accompanying usage scenarios. If you are new to the technology and want to learn about it in a short time, this is a must-see. Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • So many commentors are paranoid. During the peak usage hours more folks are trying to use the clear service so the bandwidth gets crowded and speeds slow down. There's not some evil tyrant with his hand on a knob dialing you back.

  • You don't have to be NEXT to a tower, but you do have to be in their coverage area. On the main floor of my house, I get 2/5 dots, and about 1 mbit downloads. If I take the $65 Clear Spot 4G biscuit upstairs, I get 3/5 dots, and about 2 mbit down. In my boat on Utah Lake I get 3-4 dots and up to 6 mbit down. At the office (0.2 miles from the tower, but I'm in the basement), I get 4-5 dots and 5-7 mbit down. Upload speeds are typically between 10-20% of download speeds.

  • @TheArete20 Yeah you probably live next to a tower, it's good for a few weeks then i get .5mbps every day, it fucking sucks!

  • I have Clear and absolutely love it...Miles ahead of any cable company.

  • Clearwire is falling apart

  • Do not buy clear(clearwire) you can listento this guy and be fooled but they cap my speed all the damn time afternoon and evening. I cannot even play Left4Dead or BfBC2 with out it being a 300 ping or close to that. DONT BUY CLEAR!!!.

  • 1/3 of the US population are suckers. 80 a month for a service that randomly cuts out and a max download speed of 80KB/s is NOT a great service. A great service is $60 for 22Mbps and actually getting it.

This stuff is absolute garbage. They sold us their sucker punch "unlimited" plan at 4G speeds and I hardly ever even see 1Mbps download speeds. For those who don't know, 1 Mbps = 128 kilobytes / second. When trying to cancel the service the tech said I didn't know what I was talking about.

  • if you close your eyes...you can hear Obama speaking :p

but seriously HOW FAST IS IT?

Can I upload multiple Youtube videos while my bro plays CoD online?

    WILL IT LAG?!?!?

that's what I need to know....

  • @YoungBeastYB007 seriously man, im reading comments saying their speed is over 2mb a sec, i can barely get 1mb after i clean my disks and clear caches

  • lies....Clear is slow....they need to speed up the internet and stop losing signals a lot
